Sequential Yew Set of Three

Sequential Yew Set of Three
Sequentially hand turned from a single striking piece of English Yew wood, the colours and wild grain these sculptures display are all completely natural. When we stumbled upon this extraordinary piece of timber by accident in a woodyard and the idea to make a continuously matching set of vases from it was instant. We had thought of splitting these up to make them more affordable however, as the pieces of wood were together in the tree, so these pieces of art should be together in the future. Thus, we are selling them as the originally conceived set, a true one of a kind installation.
Our minimal shapes allow the beautiful and wild grain of this timber to show itself off to the fullest. Yew is always exciting to work with and in this instance natural the colours and grain are particularly striking. Although no doubt the tree this timber came from was younger, the oldest Yew tree in the UK is estimated to be between 2,000 and 3,000 years old, although some believe that could be up to 5,000 years.
Vases can be switched around and placed in different orders to create new and different overall patterns.
