These pieces are completely flat… Some serious timber here… the highest grade AAAAA Quilted Maple specially imported form a supplier in the USA. This rare and highly sort after patterning occurs when very large trees become so heavy that they start to compact down upon themselves which his gives a 3D effect to an effectively flat piece of wood.

Images can never capture the soul of pieces like this. The wave like ripples flowing across their surfaces are only truly appreciated in person. The solidity of the hard wood blended with the fluidity of water in a single sculptural object.

Simple, flat button forms and a blend of natural plant oils which keep the timber as light as possible have been chosen to allow this material to be its best.

The underside of each piece contain some bark inclusions.
