Taper Candle Holder in Patterned Beech
This Taper Tealight Holder was expertly hand turned and encompases another Bird & Branch innovation, a glass insert allowing the beauty of the wood to be safely accented by a tealight. To produce Patterned (spalted) Beech, fallen Beech trees are left on their sides for between 3-5 years and during this time the patterns develop as the log breaks down. Between the time on the ground and then air drying it can be 7-8 years after the tree was felled before we can work with this material. Once milled and dried the natural markings are locked in place and our challenge is to make sure that we do it justice and turn something beautiful from it.
This tealight holder showcases the natural beauty of the wood’s intricate patterns and contrasting tones. The spalting process creates distinctive dark lines and color variations that make each piece one-of-a-kind. Combining artistry with functionality, it will add a warm, organic touch to any space.
Measures approx. 10cm tall x 7cm wide at the base and comes with a glass tealight insert.
Finished with a blend of natural oil and waxes.
