Vases in Rippled Sycamore with Yakisugi Finish

Vases in Rippled Sycamore with Yakisugi Finish
Handmade on the lathe from Rippled Sycamore which came to us from East Sussex. Once turned these vases underwent the ancient Japanese technique of Yakisugi where a 2000 degree flame was used to instantly char the surface. An abrasive was then used to remove the thin layer of loose charcoal and the process started again. After the second charring, each piece was treated with a food-safe hard-wearing blend natural of oils and waxes and underwent our innovative polishing process leaving it silky smooth and highly touchable!
There is another new addition to the range here, the first of its kind, The Wavy Vase. We hope you can tell which one that is from the name, but just incase, its the vase shown by its self in the final image.
