Hand-turned from a single piece of English Chestnut and finished with our radiating Sunburst surface treatment

Its been 10 years since we first released our Signature Pillow and to celebrate we have made a special collection of 20 pieces based on the original shape. This one is an extra large flat pillow hand-turned from a single piece of English Chestnut that we milled in Essex ourselves. The sunburst aesthetic involves a carefully created Yakisugi finish which is then painstakingly rubbed back to create a colour blend between the charred and the natural timber areas of the sculpture.

The Pillow shape was developed to capture and formalise the organic grain patterns of beautiful timbers. As well as being beautiful in their own right, the flowing curves are designed to be a canvas to display the grain itself. This pillow is a sculptural object in its own right and is recommended for dry use. However, the food safe finish does make it practical for displaying fruit or service at the table.

• Care - Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Re-oil periodically to maintain the finish. Avoid prolonged contact with water and don't put in the dishwasher.
