We literally bought a whole Elm plank from a local timber yard just so we could make this one piece which was about 10% of the total board.

A true once in a lifetime sculptural object celebrating this amazing timber. Our simple yet considered mid century inspired Køben shape is burrfect (see what we did there) for showing off the true beauty of this rare Burr English Elm.

This hand turned sculpture is about juxtaposing a quite formality with the chaotic and explosive natural grain patterns which expand outwards from within. It is no accident that it also includes a section of natural bark along the edge. The piece of wood was specially selected and shaped with this end result in mind as we wanted an extra visual element and connection to nature it brings within the final form.

Measures 34cm diameter and 5cm tall and 3cm deep

Finished with a hardwearing blend of food safe natural plant oils and waxes.
